In late 2012, the centuries-old Normaalschool in the heart of Lier closed its doors, giving CAAAP the unique opportunity to give this beautiful place a second lease of life.
De Normaalschool
The first phase of this ambitious urban renewal project is located in the former school building on the side of Berlaarsestraat. The first floor of the building is being renovated into 10 luxurious duplex apartments with 2 or 3 bedrooms.
The classrooms are transformed into contemporary homes with special attention to the origin of the place. The former playgrounds are undergoing a complete metamorphosis into public squares and green city gardens.
De Lesselier
De Lesselier nestles centrally on the residential site between the stately Normaalschool and the adjacent neighbourhood.
The elegant and beautiful architecture contrasts with the historic appearance of the existing school buildings. De Lesselier includes 39 apartments which are a mix of 1, 2 or 3-bedroom apartments
